Everyone found out about that page from me, and *I* found out because

For starters, I scheduled a
shoot with two female Models, Elizabeth from Orlando and Liz from Tampa,
with Cy for a 1pm-2pm meeting and then to shoot until sunset (6pm) on a
ranch he knew of. The DAY BEFORE the shoot he emails me with this:
Hello Jim,
3pm is now the earliest I can meet tomorrow. I just scheduled a gig
from 8 - 2pm.

Mind you that Liz was
driving 2 hours from Tampa to Orlando for this shoot, which is now going
to be for only a few hours with 3 Models for "couple" and solo shots.
Well Elizabeth and I were at the location at 3pm and Cy was not. I
called his cell and he said he was still a ways away and didn't even
have his own car yet to get to us. I told him that I saw an area closer
to where he was so we would meet him there instead. He agreed and
Elizabeth and I went there to find good settings to move the shoot
quickly since now we would have barely any time at all to shoot since
the sun was setting in just a few hours.
He finally arrived around
5pm and shot one roll of Elizabeth and me, but it was under a bridge
with trees around so the low sun was now causing it to be too dark and
casting too many shadows, so I told him of an oriental gazebo I saw that
was in an open park, so we went there which is where Liz met up with us,
after having her go from the ranch, to the bridge, to now the park after
her 2 hour drive. Elizabeth was fine with just Liz an me shooting at
this point, so Liz and I had about 15 minutes of sunlight left to shoot
at the gazebo with some martial arts stuff, then some sunset lovey-dovey
stuff at the waters edge in the park and some running, which Cy
continued snapping off a lot of shots with the sun already down, so most
shots would be silhouette, so I didn't see a reason for him taking so
many.
He then called a
Photographer friend to see if we could use his studio to finish the
shoot, which we did. He shot off a good 4-5 more rolls there, as he
probably shot a good 5-6 in the park already. We parted and all was
cool, I forgot to bring my Model/Photographer Release with me for him to
sign so I said I would mail it to him since he seemed cool and
trustworthy (which is a word that should never be used in the
entertainment industry). Then 1 month later I began emailing about
the arrival of the images and I received this from him:
"Hey Jim,
I'm waiting for a few people to pay me until I can develop the photos.
Should be soon. What kind of usage ideas do you have for them? Is the
release on its way to me?
Thanks again, Cy"
This is why I hate shooting
with Photographers who shoot film, they can't afford the development,
but they go click-happy during the shoot without thinking of the costs
of development they will have. Then after almost 3 MONTHS later of not
getting ANY images and not receiving ANY emails from him, he responded
to my last email with this:
Jimmy,
Images made by me, are my images. Not yours.
If you're truly interested in receiving the photos, Please send me $250
via paypal to cover developing and shipping charges, and then I'll sign
your contract, and we can share profit. I had no choice but to use a
film camera that day. I was in the process of purchasing a new digital
camera.
Elizabeth is a paying customer of mine, and she has also helped me find
other work. I don't know why you have decided to bring her up in this, I
have photographed about 50 jobs since our shoot.

Elizabeth is a paying
customer to him because of me! I arranged her to shoot with me with
him, so he met her through me! She is a PAYING customer because she is
buying the FULL rights to the images. I brought her up in the emails
because she told me that he has shot her solo since our shoot together
and she has already gotten and showed me the images from them. He "had
no choice but to use a film camera"??? That's because that was all he
had! If he wasn't wanting to pay for so much film and developing then
he shouldn't have gone click-happy.
ADVICE to all Models
- Be sure to get a signed release BEFORE you shoot with anyone, no
matter how well you think you know them, or how trusting you think they
are!

What is the best course of action when the perpetrator probably has no
money to begin with?
Part of me says to just ignore it. The guy has absolutely no pull and
the best revenge is to continue shooting and show him that he has
absolutely no effect.
I could nail him for copyright infringement. He had two of my photos up
on his page. Again.. he probably has no money and it would cost me a
fortune to find out.

omg.you've got to be kidding me. Breaking "perverts" into 2 groups and
telling people they don't need to worry about "casual" perverts because
they're not going to rape or kill you is ridiculous. I think you're
giving out bad advice to impressionable people (people who read this
board) and you really need to re-read what it is you write. I see you
have taught self-defense classes, and such, and think that's admirable,
but telling people they don't have to worry about "the casual pervert"
because he doesn't want to rape or kill you is a bit ignorant. That's
like telling children it's okay to take candy from the "casual child
molester" who isn't going to rape or kill them, but may cop a feel or
two. Bottom line- if you want to bring a respectable escort, discuss
it with the photographer beforehand....if he/she says no, then move on.
Use your gut instinct- if something doesn't seem right, it probably
isn't. And using a "driver" is a false sense of security- might as
well drive yourself. I have never understood why people intentionally
put themselves in positions where they can be harmed.

Davis/N2wldlfe about a week
ago and with his frined. I
set the shoot up with his
frined and he happened to be
a '2nd' photographer there.
No worries they told me.. i
would not get scrweed over
by them...hilariously,
despite telling them how I
had been screwed over by
other photographers, lkie
many models in the industry
aer, and not received
pictures etc. I explained to
them oh yeah I had these
experiences, jokingly. Of
course I explained to them
how I would like the
pictures right after the
shoot for this reason-- of
preventing to get screwed
over. Once again....this
con-artist assured me they
were the 'Good guys' and I
wouldn't get screwed over by
them. It was almost funny
since I never expected one
of them would and never
counted on it. He seemed
like a nice enough guy.. not
the type who would do that.
2nd photographers like that
are usually out to
take
pictures
for themselves and exploit
people while on a shoot and
a lot of times want to take
advantage of people, but in
this case, I was so
reassured they would never
do that to me, I didn't
think twice about it. I
explained to these guys how
I had gotten scrwed over in
the past, and try to get my
pictures right away etc..
they know my story- along
with horror stories of other
'models.' Despite knowing I
had been screwed over and it
wasn't even a major issue I
had had in a while,

my port and said the only
good picture taken was by
his frined, and that I was
into porn. That day his
frined took pics and he did
too. His friend gave me a cd
right after the shoot but
the creep Davis, decides he
wants to 'photoshop' pics
and give them later. Of
course I had a strong gut
feeling he wouldn't give
them.. and since he claims
there were only 15 pics
total I just said oh well
who cares.. the pics looked
bad anyway in the camera.
But it was obvious he was
doing 'something' ie wanting
to screw me over. Next thing
I know' this scumbag low
life davis is bothering me
for a shoot the entire next
week. He is emailing me
almost everyday to shoot"of
course iwas reluctant to
shoot with him b/c he never
gave me the previous
pictures' but because his
frined seemed so cool and
they were almost like a team
I decided to trust him.
Finally last Friday, I did a
shoot with him, later in the
day we decided to just get
together though it was
already late. I stood there
freezing shivering in the
cold taking pictures" with
the understanding that I
would receive my pictures
after the shoot. Once we
shot he said 'oh what are u
doing in 30 mins' .I said
nothing.. He said 'go grab
some jeans I want to take
some shots downtown.' Ok
well at this point.. my gut
told me.. don't even attempt
spending more time with this
jerk until u get your
pictures because there is no
guarantee you will be
getting anything from him. I
should have had him sign a
contract, but again I just
figured" he can't jip me out
of pictures on the spot, and
the main thing is all the
reassurance that they were
the 'good guys' and not out
to screw me over, and I
trusted them... So I said
well can you get me a disk
right now "anywhere' and
then I can decide if I want
to shoot some more. He
finally made some phone
calls and agreed to go to
his
office,
I'll wait in the parking lot
for a cd, and then we decide
to shoot some more or not. I
waited in the parking lot
"30 mins passed by, 45
mins..finally I was
thinking.. ok what is going
on here?? I called him, no
answer constantly.. he said
eh had to pick a girl up'
and was in his office. Ok? I
waited another 30 mins and
after calling many times and
upset I left.. at this point
I was like. ok im getting
screwed' so I called his
frnied who said 'well you
didn't pay for the pictures
and maybe he had family
time' and was almost trying
to defend this jerk.. and I
was thinking excuse me? U
don't tell someone youre
bringing them a CD and then
leave them in there 1.5
hours. I figured.. well
maybe something happened who
knows. As I got home I got
an
email

asked him if everything was
ok he was being rude and
insulting me through email
saying 'well most ppl don't
give out pictures like that'
etc, etc... I explained to
him that wel everyone is
different and it's what u
agree upon on a shoot, not
what people do... if u agree
to doing this.. then u do it
and u can't back out or say
something different. It
didn't matter¦ .he continued
almost berating me thru
email and complaining that
because on
my
way
to meeting him for the shoot
I said 10 mins but in fact
b/c of traffic took 20 mins
I made him wait in a parking
lot.. which wasn't even a
legitimate complaint for
claiming someone was late---waitiing
20-25 mins? Then he
continued degrading me thru
email¦ .and it was obvious
he was on a powertrip…to
keep my pictures, make me
basically have to take his
crap or kiss up to him¦ just
to get my pictures, which I
wasn't about to do¦ after
enough of that I just said
to him that we argeed on me
receiving a CD and that he
can't send all those
pictures through email...His
response was 'where did u
get THat number from' I am
done with this converastion...the
scary thing is.. how he came
across as the 'good guy' who
wouldn't screw u over and on
top of that.. he is now
acting as if I'm harassing
him...when he is the thief
who screwed me over and is
keeping my pictures from
me...he is a total psycho,
and it's funny because I
told him abuot other creeps
I had experiences with...and
then he turned not only into
the same creep but even
worse, because he didn't
give me any pictures, and
for simply requesting a cd,
he claimed he deleted my
pictures...I gave him my
email and said I'd prefer a
CD and can pick it up from
anywhere. Based on that this
psycho jerk then write
that.. my port was bad, and
smoething about me working
on a porn site.¦ now on top
of this crazy psycho
insulting me, using me for
pictures, not giving me my
pictures, insulting my
portfolio and degrading me
he is claiming I am
'harassing' him for trying
to get my pictures from him
that he has stolen from me
and my time along with a lto
of grief and frustration¦
stay away From this
creep..he is really screwed
up it seems or wants to
exploit and take advantage
of people and not only that
but insult degrade them and
cause them a lot of
frustration and grief and
after doing all of this to
them he is saying they are
harassing him for tyring to
get their pictures¦. he is a
horrible person, human
being.. lunatic, and out to
take advantage of people and
in fact he seemed like a
very nice mild person when
you meet him.. u think there
is no way he can do this to
you even his frined said
that.. but the complete
opposite is true" he is sick
it seems and I would warn
models to beware and stay
away from this scam
photography so-called
'business' the creep
has..it's funny because you
do a shoot and think.. ok
i'll get my pictures..
instead now.. you are
dealing with a somewhat
deranged sick creep.. who is
accusing you of all sorts of
nonsense...not giving you
pictures, deleting your
pictures, insulting your
portfolio, putting you down,
and now saying you are
harassing him...ie the
perpetrator trying to turn
it around on the victim.
They leave you in a complete
state of shock because you
are trusting them but and
expecting something so
simple in return-- a cd of
pictures yet instead psychos
liek this turn it into a
sick twisted game of
harassment and degradation,
lies, abuse, and false
accusations, and it can take
a huge toll on a person, and
they want to really screw
you over and cause you some
serious grief- people like
this are sadistic and sick
people...not professionals
by any means...this is
definitely not any kind of a
photography business, it is
an immature sick amateur out
to exploit and screw models
over in some really extreme
ways...beware...
